A Southern Harvest
“To read fiction is to know the fate of a society through its metaphors.”
A collection of 16 brilliant and evocative stories from contemporary short fiction in Kannada, Malayalam, Tamil and Telugu. The stories, by writers both new and established, have been translated into English especially for this volume. The writers include Paul Zacharia, Anand, Sa Kandasamy, P. Lankesh, Jayant Kaikini, Vaidehi and Allam Rajaiah. Each language section is introduced by an eminent literary figure in that language—Ayyappa Paniker for Malayalam; Ashokamitran for Tamil; D.R. Nagaraj for Kannada; and Kethu Viswanatha Reddy for Telugu.
